Gore Bay Manitoulin Lodge Auxiliary Inc. is a non-profit registered charity since January 2002, completely independent of Jarlette Health Services who privately own and operate Manitoulin Lodge in Gore Bay.
The Auxiliary:
Provides a bursary to the Manitoulin Student Aid Fund called the Gore Bay Manitoulin Lodge Auxiliary Inc. Bursary. It is for a high school graduate who plans on pursuing studies in a health related field.
Purchases and maintains equipment for the Loan Cupboard that is managed by Manitoulin Lodge. Equipment includes exercise equipment, sleep chairs, water mattresses, bed alarms, wheelchair alarms and courtyard furniture.
Owns the Angel Bus. The Angel Bus provides transportation for Residents of Manitoulin Lodge, and citizens of western Manitoulin with accessibility needs, to receive medical care, attend community functions and lead more enriched, normalized lives.
Financially supports the Volunteer Programme at Manitoulin Lodge. Volunteers help to promote a safe and caring environment, provide an extension of the community and promote and expand recreational and leisure activities for the Residents.
